Self-Empowerment Author and Coach, Mg Blackstock, known as Marie to her friends, shares inspirational messages based on the truths learned through her own worldly struggles and triumphs.
A childhood bursting with chaos, abuse, and fear ultimately was unable to hinder Marie from overcoming many obstacles to make her dreams come true. She continues to do so, cherishing the privilege of personal growth and embracing both the largest and simplest of pleasures.
“A few years ago, I found myself in my mid-40s and had no self-esteem and no self-identity. I had always been a daughter, wife, mother, sister, caregiver, yet there was no ‘me.’ It has taken many baby steps to learn to put myself first and, in doing so, my self-confidence has steadily grown.”
Regarding this successful transition from struggling and trapped in the past to vibrant, happy, and thankful, she further offers, “I chose to live in chronic depression for 30 years...I chose to live in anxiety every day for 20 years. My saving grace was learning to live in the present moment.”
Today, Marie lovingly provides readers with in-your-face truths that make readers think, ponder and grow. She spends much of her time furnishing tips that allow others to flourish in like manner, transcending fears and self-defeating behaviors and making room for healing, forgiveness, and love of self, others, and the Universe.

Animal Communicator,Amanda DeWarren, talks with Mary Lou Munroe Rey, live from Australia!
Amanda will also talk your calls! Call 323 657-1493 to ask 1 question about your pet!
Amanda De Warren has always had a connection to animals since she was a very young girl. Even from a young age Amanda seemed to understand the language of the animal world. In 1995 Amanda was offered a job at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast as a koala handler which she quickly accepted. This was a new opportunity for Amanda and she spent 4 years there. Amanda was then offered a position as a manager of a small but up and coming wildlife sanctuary on Mount Tamborine. Amanda and her team of ladies worked hard to build new enclosures and bring in more display animals. All the enclosures Amanda created were in harmony with the animals and they would tell Amanda what they wanted within their homes which Amanda happily responded to. Amanda had a particular love of the dingos although all the animals were special to her.

Leon Acord with the critically acclaimed series Old Dogs New Tricks joins the show to talk abou their final season!
Does (sex) life end for gay men as they approach 50?
That’s the question explored by the comedic, fast-paced & serialized web series Old Dogs & New Tricks, through the friendship and tribulations of four diverse and otherwise successful West Hollywood men – each one located squarely within middle age. Los Angeles (in general) and West Hollywood (in particular) add a strong flavor to Old Dogs & New Tricks, with its traffic, earthquakes, plastic surgery, and strongly youth-obsessed culture. But the focus remains on how these four different gay men react (or overreact) and adjust (or not) to getting older!
Call 323 657-1493 to ask Leon a question and join the fun!

Walter Newkirk, author, joins the show tonight to talk about his books!
memoraBEALEia : A Private Scrapbook about Edie Beale of Grey Gardens celebrates and pays tribute to Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale. Miss Beale was the first cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and is best known for her participation in the famous documentary Grey Gardens (1976). In the 1970s, Edie Beale and her mother Edith Bouvier Beale -- the respective cousin and aunt of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - former society ladies - were living in a cat-infested, filthy, crumbling estate called Grey Gardens in East Hampton. The interview for the Rutgers newspaper was conducted shortly after the release of the film. Newkirk and Beale kept in touch for several years, by phone and by mail. After the estate was sold and her mother died, Beale moved to New York ( from 1980-1983) and the author escorted her to luncheons, parties and special events. She later moved to Florida, and died in January 2002. memoraBEALEia contains never-before-seen photographs of Edie Beale and Grey Gardens, the Rutgers Targum interview along with a few other obscure newspaper clippings, reproductions of letters written by Little Edie (along with cards she created), and art inspired by Grey Gardens.

Always a sucker for a hopeful ending, he writes contemporary romance stories targeted to adult and new adult readers.
He is an alumnus of both the Santa Barbara Writers Conference and Southern California Writers' Conference (where he also serves as a workshop leader). Ara is an active member of the Romance Writers of America and its Los Angeles chapter.
