Irene Staub emerged from Zurich's underground scene in the 70s and 80s. With a mystique that rivaled Marilyn Monroe's, her iconic magnetism also carried Monroe's predestination for tragedy. Straub's looks, talent and alure charmed the likes of Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Felini, Deneuve and more.
Felini, in fact, remarked of her, “Someone who burns that bright, dies young.”
She was a model, a singer and the muse of designers and artists. To that end, possibly her most recent impression as a muse was on director and writer Gabriel Bauer, who used never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with prominent contemporaries to create the stunning documentary GLOW, which is now available for streaming.
Today we talk to Gabriel for an inside look at a diva you will not forget, and the film that immortalizes her. Gabriel is a respected director, author and producer. Her films and scripts include  Cada Dia Historia (Every Day History, NIC/CH), Die Bettkönigin (Queen of Bed, CH) and Venus Boyz (CH/DE/USA). She has received national and international awards for her films, and is a member of the European Film Academy EFA and the Swiss Film Academy. Additionally she was Co-founder of ONIX Film and ONFEATURES Film.

Kaleb was born and partly raised in Colorado before moving across Virginia, Montana, Iowa, and California by the age of 12. Now based in Portland Oregon, soft rock, singer/songwriter band Glitterfox 's soaring intimacy has won over Pacific Northwest fans. They have just released a hot track, Drive, and are soon releasing a new song, TV. We will play BOTH for you today!
The core of Glitterfox is married couple Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker. Each were queer kids in need of an escape from conservative towns. There songs are of their years living together in a van, traveling the country to play music and; of settling down in a studio apartment just prior to the pandemic. Partnered now with a rhythm section and produced by Chris Funk of the Decemberists, they’re harnessing the lessons from this closeness and cracking them wide open into a whole new world with Glitterfox.
Despite that rapid growth, the beating heart of Glitterfox will always be Walker and Igoa’s love. “Having a band that’s built around a healthy marriage is cool because it has longevity. We’re a very stable unit and we’re a family,” Andrea says. “We’ve learned how to trust each other’s instincts. When Solange and I play together, it’s so second nature—their voice and my guitar are so intimately bound.” Today, we talk to them live!

Since the start of her musical journey, Sophie B. Hawkins has shown an uncompromising devotion to her singular truth, endlessly transcending boundaries and offering up new ways of experiencing the world around us.In the 90's she turned heads by declaring herself as "omni-sexual". While others scratched their heads at the term, she embraced concepts that are just now being understood and lived. Her new albulm underscores the theme of authenticity and taking the freedom to be YOU as you are, and want to be seen.
Rooted in Sophie’s raw yet poetic lyrics as well as her captivatingly distinctive vocals Free Myself features some of her most emotionally powerful material to date.
Tapping into the same passion-filled storytelling and colorful eclecticism that inspired her 1992 platinum-selling debut Tounges and Tales this long-awaited album (Sophie’s first in over a decade) sees the singer/songwriter reflecting on what has been a trailblazing, revolutionary career while embarking on a new creative chapter of independence and positivity.

Today we talk to one of the premier activists to fight against the horrific "ex-gay" initiatives over the past few decades, Wayne Besen. Wayne Besen is an American LGBTQ+ rights activist and the founder and executive director of Truth Wins Out, a non-profit organization dedicated to exposing the dangers of the ex-gay movement. He is a former investigative journalist, having worked for WABI-TV, and a former spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign.
In 1998, Wayne left the Human Rights Campaign to start Truth Wins Out. The organization was founded in response to the growing ex-gay movement, which claims that it is possible to change one's sexual orientation. Besen has been a tireless critic of the ex-gay movement, exposing its harmful practices and its lack of scientific evidence.
Under Wayne's leadership, Truth Wins Out has become a leading voice in the fight against the ex-gay movement. The organization has published numerous reports and articles on the dangers of the ex-gay movement, and Besen has testified before Congress and state legislatures about the need to protect LGBTQ+ youth from these harmful practices.
Today we discuss his new book Lies With a Straight Face: Exposing the Cranks and Cons Inside the 'Ex Gay' Industry. He is also the author of  Bashing Back: Wayne Besen on GLBT People, Politics and Culture (2007), and Anything But Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the ‘Ex-Gay’ Myth (2003).
