My guest tonight! A 17-year-old High School junior was suspended Wednesday after Rep. Mark Amodei’s office complained to administration about a call the student had made to his office. Noah C. had never had so much as a detention before, is a model student, and a major player on his school’s debate team. Noah and dozens of his classmates called their representatives during Wednesday’s nationwide school walkouts over gun violence. He had just been elected class secretary/treasurer but will not be able to serve in that role due to this unconstitutional suspension.
Noah and the Nevada ACLU’s policy leader, Holly Wellborn, join us and tell the whole story of protest, free speech and oppression.  Brody Levesque and Karen Ocamb join as our journalist panel.

Seventeen year old Saul Singleton entered a beautiful film into the prestigious high school Golden Lion Awards, only to be told that "Since our festival adheres to a strict PG-comparable rating system, we are unable to accept any films with clearly illustrated LGBQT+ themes."
Yet, they claim to be LGBT inclusive. (His story was told here: https://www.gaystarnews.com/article/short-film-festival-rejects-student-sign-language-film-gay-kiss/ )
Meanwhile, he was an active participant in this week's march out against gun violence.
We talk to him about being an LGBT teen in today's environment and his fights ahead!
Our panel tonight includes journalist Davn Ennis and journalist and radio show producer, Brody Levesque.

When esteemed activist Gilbert Baker passed away, the New York Times said of him, “Gilbert Baker, (was) a self-described “gay Betsy Ross” who in 1978 hand-dyed and stitched together eight strips of vibrantly colored fabric into a rainbow flag, instantly creating an enduring international symbol of gay pride.” They were wrong.  The unsung designer of the rainbow flag was Lynn Segerblom. Tonight we are joined by Lynn and the film maker telling her story, Glenne McElhinney. We find out what the real story was around the birth of the beloved flag, and get Lynn’s thoughts on how it is being used today. Joining me are top journalists Karen Ocamb and Brody Levesque.  Please note our special time, one hour earlier, this week!

The teens who are the Parkland shooting survivors have a very special ally working with them on their fight to end gun violence.  His name is Brandon Wolf.

Life changed one horrible night for Brandon Wolf. He hid in a bathroom while a gunman opened fire in Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub, killing his two best friends, Drew Leinonen & Juan Guerrero, as well as 47 others. But rather than get swallowed up by the anger and fear of tragedy, Brandon and his group of friends set out to honor the victims’ legacies with action.  Brandon was a surrogate on multiple political campaigns in the 2016 cycle, appearing in July at the Democratic National Convention. He also serves as the Vice President of The Dru Project, a nonprofit organization that establishes Gay Straight Alliances in public high schools and provides college funding to future leaders in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Tonight he talks to us.  With master journalist Brody Levesque.

This week we are honored to talk to the one and only Sarah McBride! In July 2016, she was a speaker at the Democratic National Convention, becoming the first openly transgender person to address a major party convention in American history.
She is an American LGBT rights activist and political figure. She is currently the National Press Secretary of the Human Rights Campaign. She made national headlines when she came out as transgender to her college while serving as student body president at American University and is largely credited with the passage of legislation in Delaware banning discrimination on the basis of gender identity in employment, housing, insurance, and public accommodations.

We will talk to her about her brand new book Tomorrow Will Be Different,  Love , Loss and the Fight for Trans Equality .

Featuring our panelists Brody Levesque and Dawn Ennis.

We talk to the man who made history, and is now challenges the anti-gay policies of the Mormon church.

Fred Karger was the first openly gay presidential candidate in a major political party in American history. He worked on nine presidential campaigns and served as a senior consultant to the campaigns of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and Gerald Ford  and now works as an activist on gay rights causes, from protecting the gay bar The Boom to using his organization Californians Against Hate to investigate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

Brody Levesque and Karen Ocamb are our featured journalist panel!

Our guest tonight is Brad Dunshee, creator of the Mattachine Project.  In his words: “Well into my 30s, I heard about the Compton's Cafeteria riot, in the heart of San Francisco, which entailed an LGBTQ-uprising against an abusive police force--this event, stunningly, happened a full three years before the much-more-known Stonewall uprising. I was floored. Why hadn't I known about this? Was it common knowledge that I had just somehow missed? As I've always worked in media, I made the decision to develop a platform showcasing a weekly podcast, detailing these stories. My hope and main mission with this platform is to get our stories out there--it's important to understand our community's triumphs, our challenges, and what we've been through. “
Tonight we talk to Brad with panel Brody Levesque and Dawn Ennis.  We talk about the project, and we talk about history we all need to know.

Our panel was mortified at the display of arrogance and aggressiveness at this week's state of the union.  We talk about the horror show that Donald Trump has proposed, its effects on the LGBTQ2 citizens of this country, and what th Democrats should be doing to stop it.  The progressives have started to show signs that the resistence is fractured, and if it continues to be, will not be effective.

We discuss the effect of Donald Trump's comments this week. Alt-Right groups in 2017 were responsible for more hate crime deaths than any other entity in the US.  We discuss this with Lecia Brooks, our special guest from the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Lecia Brooks leads the Southern Poverty Law Center’s outreach efforts on key initiatives and social justice issues.
The SPLC is the premier U.S. non-profit organization monitoring the activities of domestic hate groups and other extremists and is currently tracking more than 1,600 extremist groups operating across the country. They publish investigative reports, train law enforcement officers and share key intelligence, and offer expert analysis to the media and public.
