LA Weekly has described the lifelong work of Michael Kearns as "collisions of sex and death, of eroticism and grief.” Globally recognized as Hollywood’s first openly gay actor, Kearns became an artist-activist during the AIDS crisis, whose unparalleled work gave voice to those impacted by HIV/AIDS.
He is our guest today! We will be discussing his latest inspiration, the world premiere of The Ache For Home, a docudrama illuminating homeless voices in West Hollywood (to be presented online on Sunday October 17). The production features citizens-turned-writers who share inspirational stories from their time on the streets, ranging from narratives of soaring self-acceptance to confessions of truth-telling defeats. The show’s title is a reference to a quote by Maya Angelou, “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”
Evolving from a career primarily as a theatre actor, who appeared in television and film, Michael established himself as an award-winning, internationally-acclaimed artist embracing the roles of actor, director, playwright, dramaturge, acting teacher, writing teacher, author, producer, and solo performer.

Today is Bisexuality Day, and the culmination of Bi Awareness Week ( #BiWeek )! We honor it by talking to one of the foremost educator analysts, author Ritch Savin-Williams. We will be discussing his new book BI: Bisexual, Pansexual, Fluid, and Nonbinary Youth .
Ritch is a developmental psychology professor emeritus of Human Development. He received the Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and has written nine books on adolescent development. Welcome to Journey with Stephanie!
Tonight Stephanie interviews her special guest, Michael Ferraro - celebrated Reiki Master and Intuitive Healer.
Michael's Bio:
I was attuned to Reiki level III (Master level) in the mid 1990s. After many years of performing energy work through Reiki, I started to play with different techniques of energy healing. I found that that Reiki was an amazing stepping stone and introduction to understanding energy and the process of feeling and moving said energy to promote healing.
I found over time, that the power of visualization and directing intension, coupled with true gratitude, amplified the healing power 100 fold! In fact, any person trained in proper techniques of visualization and directing intension and learning how to feel gratitude for the healing taking place FROM THE HEART WITH NO DOUBTS can achieve amazing results. This technique can also be used for manifesting experiences in one’s life.
This has become my technique which I use today. I’ve learned that an energy healer’s abilities are increased exponentially when you use this power of focused intention along with visualization. The more detailed one can be with the visualization along with the intent to heal and gratitude for the healing taking place creates amazing results. Using this technique also increased my ability to trust my intuition, learning to not question the process, but to embrace and trust my ability to know I’m being drawn to to areas that are needed.
