When a School Suspended a Student for Wearing Nail Polish

Clyde CISD held an emergency school board meeting Thursday night, 10-days after suspending Trevor Wilkinson for wearing nail polish to school. Equality Texas was able to submit written public comment and a letter of support, but...also identified that emails were not going through if the body of the email included words like 'gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender' written within the body. Clyde CISD is not only discriminating against an LGBTQ student, but is actively suppressing the free speech of people trying to communicate with them about the issue. We will offer updates as soon as we know how people can offer public comments.
